Give Some Respect To The Roots, History & Origin

For the dancers who are trying to deny the fact that there is an Egyptian style of Oriental dance, just for the sake of defending their styles of dance, defending their musical interpretation or defending where they are from.

For your information, whatever you dance and call it Bellydance, Oriental dance or Raqs Sharki, is an Egyptian dance, not just Egyptian style- it’s not because you add few Latin or Russian moves on the top of it, it will not change the fact that what you dance still Egyptian dance that you dance to Egyptian music and Egyptian songs.

We often hear this classic sentence from many dancers “I dance my own technique” so ask yourself where did you get your unique technique from?!

The dance is not created for a choreography sense- it has a very strong history, lineage and culture tied to it. This dance is more than just a stage performance for choreography sake / the expressions found in classic songs, the emotions and rich understanding of the music goes beyond just a routine or technique!

Be honest with yourself and stop lying and misleading your students by telling them lies and wrong information!

Give some respect to the roots, history and origin!
Please share it everywhere if you agree!

Love to you all
Thank you for reading and your support!
